Join us for “Pay Decoded: Navigating Salary Realities” on March 14 at 6:00 PM, to unravel the mysteries of salary and pay rises!

Welcome to Women in Tech York’s March event!

Who are we?

Women in Tech York is a community of like-minded individuals studying, working or interested in technology. Our goal is to run events where we can share our knowledge and interests, as well as encourage and empower one another. Our events are not exclusive to women; we welcome anyone passionate about tech and increasing diversity in the field. Events run on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

We also welcome all students and career-changers who are interested in learning more about tech, and career progression in the industry.

This month…

It’s all about de-mystifying pay; it can be a taboo and uncomfortable topic, but if we don’t know if we’re being paid competitively we’re likely to accept a lower salary than our peers. We’ll hear talks from Gemma Woodward and Rebecca Warriner, two industry profressionals who know how to ask for, and get, what they deserve!

Gemma Woodward is a HR professional carrying over 5 years in HR leadership, talent and recruitment. She started HR to bring the human to the forefront and is passionate about fostering cultures of individuality, collaboration and championing success!

We appreciate this can be a sensitive topic, so we’ll have mental health first aiders available at the event.

As always, there will be a free buffet (vegan options available) thanks to our sponsors BJSS and Isotoma. Please let us know about allergies in advance.

Please note all event timings are approximate and that we only offer in-person tickets.

Got an idea for a future talk?

Submit your talk details here – we review them with our team and vote for the talks we’d like to hear the most. All talk details are anonymised prior to voting to ensure a fair process.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

We will always do our best to cater for everyone. If you let us know about your requirements at least 72 hours in advance we’ll pass them on to the venue and ask them to accommodate.

If you have any concerns about the food on the night then please speak to a member of staff. Nutritional information can be found on Revolution’s website. We usually order a buffet which typically includes mini burgers, fries, salads, garlic bread and small snacks. If you need to know what food will be provided ahead of time then please let us know.
