Newcastle Dales Dash

The Newcastle Dales Dash is an annual multi-terrain race. The route of the race takes in most of Apedale Community Country Park with woodlands, meadows and pools. The race then takes a turn around Lymedale, once site of the famous Brymbo pit but now a solar panelled business park with wetlands and fishing ponds incorporated.

This year will be the 14th staging of the Newcastle Dales Dash. All runners will receive a beautiful Aynsley China plaque bearing the Apedale Community Country Park logo. Prizes go to all the usual categories. Special trophies go to the first lady finisher, the first Newcastle(Staffs)AC lady finisher, the first Under16 on the day M/F runner, presented in memory of Margaret Barker, founder of the race back in 2004 when she was with Staffs CC, Newcastle Countryside Project.

The ‘Dash’ is a special annual event at Apedale, which can only take place, thanks to the help from the band of willing volunteers who maintain and layout the route and marshal on the day.
