Fort Nelson is the home of the big guns of the Royal Armouries national collection of artillery.

This fully restored Victorian fort is a great place to explore, with high ramparts and panoramic views, underground tunnels and a whole museum of national treasures to discover.

Admission is FREE

Opening times: 10:00 – 16:00

Open Tuesdays – Sundays during term-time. Closed Mondays.

Open daily during school holidays and bank holidays.

Choose your arrival time from the following timeslots:

10:00 – 11:00 / 11:00 – 12:00 / 12:00 – 13:00 / 13:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 15:00 / 15:00 – 16:00

You can stay as long as you wish.

Please book a free visitor ticket for everyone in your party. Parking: £3 per car – pay on arrival.

Our visitor capacity is currently restricted due to a reduction in the number of car parking spaces available after bad weather damaged the surface of the car park.
