“You are cordially invited to the coronation of Prince Taliesin…”

Following the abdication of the great fey King Pouilli, you are invited to the Forest Palace to witness him pass the crown to his son, Prince Taliesin. It will be a joyous affair with absolutely no unexpected revelations. There will definitely not be a sudden reveal of the Old King having had an affair with a human and absolutely no surprise mortal child with a claim to the throne that will send the entire kingdom into mayhem and force the Trials of Fey to commence. Absolutely no chance of that…

Of all the things Eva planned to do while skiving off school, being forced into the fey realm with only her best friend Ben by her side wasn’t on her to-do list. Nor did she think the explanation that she is the child of a fey king’s mortal dalliance much of an excuse for kidnapping. But when given the chance, who wouldn’t want to rule a kingdom in a fantastical land? There’s only one problem: Prince Taliesin is not willing to give up his inheritance lightly. Now Eva is being forced into a series of trials that will prove who is the kingdom’s rightful ruler.

Three trials await. Two potential heirs. Only one crown… Let the games begin!

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Shine Like Stars Theatre Company is a youth theatre local to York that was established in 2013 by theatre practitioner Debbie Phillips. To date, the company has produced 41 productions, including two feature films and a web series that were created during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Shine Like Stars works with small casts in order to give performers plenty of stage time and allow our team to work one on one with our actors.
